While 'Deserter' was still pretty decent, I still think it's too cheesy. A few of the scenarios and 'acting' are just a little over the top. Kids show or not, they could safely step it up a bit. And is it just me, or does the announcer annoy anyone else?

Just to comment on the announcer...

Lucas is very inspired by the old serials of the '40s and '50s. I can remember when my dad watched reruns of such series and movies of the World War II era, that there was always a newsreel that played just before the feature film. In many of those cases, especially during World War II, the announcer would speak very "excitedly" as he tried to bring life to the mostly silent film documentaries of the soldiers fighting in Europe. I believe that Filoni is trying to capture that moment in time of the old era, as I have heard some of the Clone Wars episodes were inspired by actual battles in WWII. Therefore, the announcer is also trying to rekindle that spark of nostalgia through his 30-second recap of the battles and struggles that have taken place during the Clone Wars.

Hope that helps explain the announcer's motivation for his "annoying" voice overs! Very Happy

Hey, here's a question while waiting for the next episode of False-Mandolorian Jedi Humping, has anyone heard Frontlines: The Clone Wars yet? You can find it at this link http://www.clonewarspodcast.com/ and they even have their own forums, which could use a bit more tipping to the Mando scale of things, so yeah. Neutral
